Zrenjanin is a city in Serbia, administrative centre of the Central Banat District. Zrenjanin is the largest city in the Serbian Banat, the third largest city in the Vojvodina province after Novi Sad and Subotica. Old Serbian name for the city was Veliki Beckerek, between World Wars city was named Petrovgrad. In 2002, the city's population was 79,773 inhabitants.
